From October 14 to 28, an exhibition of artistic ceramics “Vichne kolo” was held in Kyiv, at the “TseHlynaArt” gallery.<\/em><\/p>\n

The exhibition featured modern artistic dishes and plates of Ukrainian artists, as well as decorative dishes of the Lviv Ceramic-Sculpture Factory (LKSF) from private collections.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Plate, bowl – the oldest form of household ceramics<\/a>. Decorated with exquisite ornamentation or scene, the utilitarian thing was raised to the rank of a unique artistic product with its culturological appeal, which over time only overgrown with layers of meanings.<\/p>\n

Creating an extraordinary work in a traditional “framework” is a real challenge for the artist, a kind of dialogue between the artist and a chaste and white canvas in the face of eternity. It is always important to be able to accurately convey their fast-moving creative impulse, reflect the mood or formulate their own program of world outlook – the so-called manifest, though not in the square, but in the circle. But it seems as if a simple circle shape may be insidious: capture, distract from your plan, and conquer your own closed rhythm. And then, too, a true synthetic work, a spectacular thing in itself, which you want to hang like a picture on the wall, will be born.<\/p>\n

“At the first Festival of Modern Ceramics in Urban Space (2013, Kyiv), we decorated a wall under the open sky with hand-painted dishes. It turned out to be very beautiful. Everyone wanted to be photographed on her background. Since then, I have been dreaming to make such a thematic exhibition and invite the ceramists to join her.”<\/p>\n

“The production of artistic plates and decorative dishes was a priority for the famous world brand names of fine ceramics: “Ving & Gr\u00f8ndahl” and “Royal Copenhagen”(Denmark), “Wedgwood” (England), “Rosenthal” (Germany).<\/p>\n

Among the Ukrainian producers, a unique tradition has developed in the last third of the twentieth century at the Lviv Ceramic and Sculpture Factory (LKSF), where many ceramic dishes and layers were made, which often affect the immediacy of the image and the ingenuity of the composition. Over their creation worked well-known artists and educators: S. Flinta, T. Levkiv, H. Kichula, B. Horbalyuk, S. Bereza. U. Everyone has their own way, favorite stories, technique and color scheme, but their works together bring together a surprisingly coherent idea of \u200b\u200bthe stylistics of the Lviv school, which became a nourishing ground for many contemporary artists.<\/p>\n

In this exhibition project it would be interesting to compare the dishes of artists of different generations and to build a certain historical perspective, to indicate the continuity or vice versa, the emancipation of young artists.”<\/p>\n
